Highly recommend this treatment center! It was the only one I have ever gone to and hopefully the last. I was there in 2015 for residential and outpatient treatment. TPOT staff helped me get to the core of my problems and gave me a solution. They were all so kind and supportive. I was hopeless before coming into treatment. After I discharged from TPOT I had a life worth living. I am so grateful for my experience there. If you know anyone with a substance abuse problem or eating disorder TPOT can help! There is a solution!
I was just discharged from Turning Point of Tampa on Friday, November 9th. I am now in Intensive Outpatient Treatment, there. I couldn't recommend Turning Point highly enough to be completely honest. Everyone there knew who I was and treated me as a person and not my disease, though there were times and days that devotion to the seriousness of the disease was addressed. The employees there all truly genuinely care deeply for every client/resident there. Everyone there knew my chart and my history and they all played an important role in my treatment. I couldn't be more happier to be an Alumni of Turning Point and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who needs help!
By far, the best treatment experience I've ever had. Can't stress enough how all the staff really made me feel as though they cared about my recovery.
I got out of Turning Point a year ago today. TPOT is the only rehab I ever went to, but I’ve heard about how lackadaisical and disorganized a lot of the other ones are in comparison. This place without a doubt changed my life; there are very few people that 12-step recovery programs will not work for. TPOT did the difficult job of convincing me I had a problem, convincing me that my life could get better if I was sober, and preparing me to enter into the rooms of recovery with honesty, willingness, and an open mind. I wouldn’t be clean, sober, or frankly even alive if it weren’t for this place. It wasn’t easy, but being at Turning Point gave me a serious jumping off point for life in recovery. I’m eternally grateful to all of the staff there and my family for taking me.
I have seen a lot of great results from clients coming from Turning Point. The staff is very compassionate about the work they do 👍🏻
A family member received treatment at Turning Point many years ago for a drug problem and an eating disorder. The staff was always kind and answered any questions we had concerning the program, the costs involved and insurance benefits. The program was tough, but I feel it needed to be in order to be effective. I appreciated that Turning Point encouraged my family member and me to be involved in Twelve Step fellowships. Choosing Turning Point was the best decision for us.
I paid for my adult son to be admitted for treatment at TPOT a year ago. After so many years of trying (or not trying) to become sober, he was spiraling downward at a fast pace. He had no insurance so I paid for his treatment out of pocket. The staff was more than compassionate and they were always open to my questions and concerns. I truly appreciate the treatment my son received from the doctors to the therapists and the family counseling that was offered to me. He was given the tools to deal with the ups and downs of recovery which I have seen him use successfully. He still receives support from the fireside group and others in recovery from Turning Point. You saved my son's life and I cannot thank you enough.
Truly a special place in the recovery community in Tampa. They have a flawless program for substance abuse and eating disorders. Proud to be an alumni!
Turning Point saved my life almost 27 years ago and I have been sober since due to the Grace of God and incredible staff at Turning Point. I could not stay sober 27 minutes let alone 27 years- it truly is a miracle. And I am grateful everyday that God led me there .
"I attended Treatment in Tennessee. It was immediately followed by Intensive Outpatient then After-Care at Turning Point of Tampa. The therapists Angie and Logan, as well as all those others involved at TPoT, were instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition and continuation of my recovery. They will be forever a part of my fabric and I am grateful to them for my new sober life."
I stayed for residential treatment for 67 days, for an alcohol addiction and eating disorder. This is not my first rodeo with a treatment center. It was, however, the most focused, twelve step based, therapy intensive, and helpful program I have ever entered. I owe Turning point of Tampa my sobriety, abstinence, and sanity. If you are looking to truly get well. And I mean truly, in mind, body, and spirit. This is the place for you. It's not cushy. You will not be babied. But, if you want to, you can get well here. I learned so much about myself. I was pushed to do the work, and am reaping the benefits today. The house mangers are all in recovery and most went through Turning point of Tampa themselves. The financial office continues to be helpful to me to this day when I receive a bill that I'm unsure about. I even still see the nutritionist there for free because I was a client! I thoroughly recommend and am so very blessed to have went through such an intense, caring, and judgement free treatment center.
I was a client in 2005, and I have continued to stay connected to Turning Point through alumni events. This organization, without doubt, saved my life. They provided me with the education and resources I needed to begin my recovery. After treatment, they offered extensive support through weekly aftercare meetings. The staff is firm, yet genuinely caring. They set me up to be successful in my recovery community, but the rest was up to me.
I'm grateful beyond what I could ever say on a review but the care I received at turning point was exactly what I needed. I didn't get coddled here as I did at previous facilities. I was told it would require hard work to dig in and get to the root of the problem and that they would be with me every step of the way. My Counseler Hans told me i had a denial problem and boy was he right. Imagine me thinking I know more than someone with lots of years in recovery himself. Thank god he got through to me. All the staff there are amazing. Logan sent me off with a piece of advice I'll continue to do and that is always be transparent. Hi to all the house managers, y'all were fantastic and God bless Turning Point for many more years of success. It really works if your honest open and willing. Love you all Randy Herbert
Turning Point of Tampa (TPOT) saved my life. I don't think I would have ever made it to the 12-step rooms without them. I went through their residential and Intensive Outpatient programs. I chose a residential treatment center, TPOT specifically, because I had tried everything else (and failed miserably); their website stated they were 12-step based, which was the last thing I hadn't tried for my substance abuse issues. Almost every single staff member is in recovery. This was crucial to my success. I had to know that the people trying to help me were once suffering as I was because I had lost all trust in myself and other people. I needed to know that my situation was not special. I cannot rave enough about the staff at TPOT. It doesn’t start or end with the therapists. Every single individual that I encountered from TPOT had only one goal in mind – a long-lasting, sustainable recovery for me. That doesn’t mean that it was easy or comfortable. Quite the contrary. It was hard work and very uncomfortable. They didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear, but enveloped me in honesty and integrity. Through a very structured environment focusing on the 12-step principles and group therapy, the veil of denial began to be lifted. I learned so much about myself and who I had become - that this disease is progressive, the primary diagnosis, and will kill me. I also learned that I have to address all aspects of this disease. It was brought to my attention that I also had an eating disorder, and although I was resistant during residential treatment, I finally surrendered to my food addiction as well. I know in my heart of hearts that if this was not diligently worked on with me, I would not have the same recovery I have today. I am forever grateful to TPOT for each and every day that I am clean, sober, and abstinent. It really was the turning point for me.

I went to Turning Point of Tampa January 5, 2016 for help with bulimia and compulsive overeating, and through the process also identified alcohol and addiction issues. My experience was wonderful and life changing. Turning Point focuses on the 12 Step Program of recovery, which I had previously never thought to apply to my eating disorders. The environment and culture is inspired by the 12 step philosophy and does support addicts learning from each other and supporting other addicts. Turning Point of Tampa is where my life truly started and I am grateful. The village and living facilities are better than expected. The staff is truly invested and passionate about the work they do. I have been in recovery a year and a half and I still return once a week to check in with the alumni group. I also must say - it is a struggle to take the steps needed to get clean, abstinent and/or sober. In our diseases we are very difficult to please. Be wary of resentful online reviews. Don't use them as excuses to stay in the situation you are in. Turning Point of Tampa is where I found my sanity, and I hope that you can find yours too.
Out of all the Treatment Centers that I have been involved with, I have never met the kind of considerate, respectful and thoughtful people, like I have met at Turning Point. They treat everyone (including me) with kind fairness, respect and dignity. In the time that I have worked with the therapists and staff, I learned more about "me" (and being responsible for MY recovery) than any other treatment center...and for that I am eternally grateful and so are my loved ones....Turning Point saves lives. Period!
Place is awesome it saved my life my therapist Aaron was great Beverly was great Hans was great very knowledgeable staff would highly recommend this place as it is I think the second best place in the county HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE !!
Turning Point is a wonderful establishment who's employees are very dedicated and loving. They work as a team to set a plan out for you individually for your recovery. They are staffed with exceptional therapists who work with you so you can achieve recovery. If you or a loved one is suffering from any kind of addiction, I highly recommend Turning Point.
Turning Points number one priority is the client. They are a wonderful establishment who have helped many people towards finding recovery. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction I highly recommend Turning Point of Tampa.
Very nice place to get treatment. Ive visited a number of treatment centers through the years and Turning Point of Tampa is one of the nicest and most hands on with their clients. The facility is fairly large with plenty of room to stretch you legs and a caring staff to help you focus on whats most important.
